Ipad Users Statistics

Apple invested so much money in promoting the iPad, that it would have been impossible not to make some studies on who and how many people would buy it and.

As revealed in a survey made by AdMob, one out of six iPhone users are going to buy an iPad in 2010. The survey had about one thousand responders and it shows that sixteen percent of those who already use an Apple product are planning to purchase the tablet soon. Android or Palm users are less interested in this; only six and eleven percent of them are likely to buy Apple’s tablet. This means that Apple is a brand that sells, just for its name and that is was able to create a strong relationship with its clients, who trust in it. If we were to believe this survey, then many iPads would be sold in a short period of time. More than 75 million iPhones were bought all over the world and sixteen percent of this would mean that twelve million iPads should be bought in 2010, only by iPhone users, not including the others and without taking into consideration the fact that they will also be sold in 2011. We must admit, this is not bad for a new concept of gadget, in its first six months. Further than this, AdMob found out that smartphone users are mostly male: 73 percent Android users and around 57 percent iPhone, iPod Touch or webOS users.

You might wonder what kind of people would buy iPads. The NPD Group has a market research report regarding this. As it reveals about the consumer’s interest and awareness, 24 percent of those who already own an Apple device are very interested in purchasing an iPad and only 18 percent of all consumers are interested in buying it. The sample size for the NPD’s survey was about two thousand consumers, so it should be trustworthy. Overall, those who would buy an iPad usually have an income of $100,000 per year or more. Their age is mostly between 18 and 34: 27 percent of the responders in this age range said that they are interested in buying an iPad. It might seem too little, but 9 percent of consumers said that they would buy an iPad in the next six months, which means that the number of sales could easily get to twenty million users, only considering U.S. citizens, 18 or older. Most of them seem to want an iPad for music or for Internet browsing, but the reason for buying is something between brand loyalty and the touchscreen, at those aged between 18 and 34. Brand loyalty seems to be very important in this case, as 37 percent of the interested customers point the brand of Apple as the main reason to buy the iPad. Congratulations for Apple, they know how to manage their customer data!

There are some people who don’t want to buy an iPad, of course they are. For most of them, the price is the only reason for which they don’t intend to purchase one- 57 percent said that, which is higher than the number ot uninterested buyers. Another popular reason for not being interested in the iPad is owing or planning to have a notebook. Despite this, users statistics seem to be very promising for Apple’s iPad.
